Some people believe that composting is too complicated, smells too bad, takes too much time to accomplish, and that it is overall a very messy affair. This is untrue, as it is in fact quite easy and quick to make your own compost if you have right tool.
WHAT IS COMPOSTING?
Composting is a controlled, aerobic (oxygen-required) process that converts organic materials into a nutrient-rich soil amendment or mulch through natural decomposition. The end product is compost – a dark, crumbly, earthy-smelling material. Microorganisms feed on the materials added to the compost pile during the composting process. They use carbon and nitrogen to grow and reproduce, water to digest materials, and oxygen to breathe.
COMPOSTING BENEFIT
Reduces Waste
Waste reduction is another benefit of compost, since compost is generally made from waste (food scraps, organic byproducts, etc) that is diverted from landfills and incinerators. This reduces the amount of waste disposed and upcycles those materials into a productive, environmentally beneficial product.
Improves Soil Health
Compost also improves the biological, chemical and structural health of soils. This helps both the plants that grow in that soil, as well as supporting the surrounding ecosystem of worms, bugs, microbes, and others.
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions
Organic waste in landfills generates, methane, a potent greenhouse gas. By composting wasted food and other organics, methane emissions are significantly reduced.
WHY COMPOST AT HOME
Composting is nature’s way of recycling. It is one of the most powerful actions we can take to reduce our trash, address climate change, and build healthy soil. By turning our food scraps and yard trim into compost, we can transform our waste streams into a beneficial, value-added soil amendment and use it to protect the environment and create resilient communities.
Composting is a resourceful way to recycle the food scraps and yard trim you generate at home all year and manage your waste more sustainably.
You reduce the volume of materials that might otherwise be disposed in landfills or trash incinerators - leaves, grass clippings, yard trim, and food scraps – and prevent powerful greenhouse gases from being emitted into the atmosphere.
Composting involves minimal effort, equipment, expense, and expertise, and can be fun.
You save money by producing a free, high quality soil amendment – compost, which reduces your use of fertilizer and pesticides.
You can use your compost to build healthier soil, prevent soil erosion, conserve water, and improve plant growth in your garden and yard.
LESS LANDFILL WASTE
Composting diverts organic material away from landfills and into facilities where it can be put to use.
REDUCED EMISSIONS
Less food waste in landfills means reduced methane emissions.
HEALTHIER SOIL
Composted organic material enriches soil with nutrients.
ABOUT PRODUCT
COMPOST BIN
A compost bin is a container into which one can place organic waste to turn into compost over time. Some bins are continuous, meaning you can keep adding waste to them, while others create batches of compost with a set mix of ingredients you add all at once. The compost bin's lid will have charcoal filter to prevent odour from food. The compost bin processing waste through 3 steps which are grinding, break down the organic matter and make it dry. This way people can use their food waste in their plant as well as reduce huge amount of waste.
COMPANY GOALS
VISION
To envision a world in which every person disposes of food residual and compostable materials in an environmentally sustainable way to reduce the landfills.
MISSION
To increase the awareness among public, individuals and businesses, about the benefits of compost and to reclaim organic materials from landfills to create soil for the community based agriculture.
VALUES
To work with responsibility, transparency, with ethics, honesty, commitment and consistency, respecting the laws, the people, and the environment.
OBJECTIVES
To reduce climate and environmental impacts associated with food waste through convert food waste into organic fertilizers.
